Top 7 Activities for my Kids

We did not completely remove screen time in our house, we still let them watch sometimes, but is now very controlled. They are no longer allowed to watch on their own. Before they have access to youtube kids and they can watch whatever they feel like watching. They learned a lot by watching, but it is not worth it (for me). All of the things that they see on the screen, we can do with them. I only let them watch 1 movie a week - in Disney+. We sometimes watch together, we choose a family movie.

Here are the Top 7 Activities I let my boys do everyday.

1. Pretend Restaurant - My boys love to pretend that they have a restaurant and ask me to order food from them and they will prepare it for me. They use play doh to make food such as fries, burger, ice cream, fried chicken, etc. I have to pretend to order, eat, and pay and then do it a hundred more times. 😆

2. Pretend Hospital - Sometimes I am the doctor, but most of the time, I am the patient that always needs vaccine. 😅

3. Sidewalk Chalk Writing/Drawing. They love to draw and write, so I gave them the freedom to write everything they want using sidewalk chalk in our garage.

4. Baking/Cooking. Whenever I bake for them, I let them "help" me. I let them put the cupcake liners on the pan, measure the flour, crush the oreos, scoop the cookie dough. Although most of the the time they just end up eating up all the chocolate chips. 😂

5. Riding Cars and Bikes. The boys love to ride and drive, I think they got that from their dad. Good thing the lolos & lolas and ninongs & ninangs gave them different kinds of toy cars and bikes. You just have to learn to trust that they won't hit something/someone or hurt themselves, we rarely had accidents so far. 😊

6. Reading. I started reading to my boys when they were still newborn, that is why they got used to us reading to them. It's good practice for their speech and they learn to read as well when you read aloud to them.

7. Go outside. They need fresh air and space to run. It is good for their mental and physical health.

These are my alternative to screen time. A lot of time is being eaten up when we let them watch TV and they don't get to exercise. I play with them most times, but I also get help. Sometimes their dad bring them to the park, sometimes we all go together. There are a lot of things we can do with our kids, we just need to balance family and work time. 💕

Love,
Karla
