Our Europe Trip: Introduction

Paris has always been one of my dream destinations since I was 12 because of the Eiffel Tower, so when my husband said to me that we are going to Europe last year, I was so excited. I didn't let him know though! So chill lang, like, Ah ok, sure! 😆

I asked him what countries are we visiting, he didn't include France, so I just simply told him we should include Paris in the itinerary, wala lang, sama lang natin since we're already there. 😅

He agreed! 😍

We applied for our visa rather late, we just had a little over a week yata when we receive our visas, so we only booked our flights at that time. All flights to Paris has been sold out, we had no choice but to get a flight to Brussels and then go to Paris by train.

Paris is a super high traffic destination, so definitely all means of travels, plane and train, should be booked super advanced, as in at least 4 months advance. We did not know that until we are booking everything. The train going to Paris directly, from Brussels to Paris, are fully booked, you have to also book it months before!! So no choice, we have to get an alternate route.

The only available train we got from Brussels needs to pass by Lille, France. The supposedly an hour and a half train ride became almost 5 hours, including transfer and waiting time.

Our plane landed in Brussels at around 4pm, the queue for the immigration took 2 hours. We were at the train station by 6pm and there we started our journey to Paris.

The train rides are smooth and comfortable, what is exhausting are the transfers, some of the train stations didn't have elevators and we are carrying 2 kids, 2 large luggages, 2 backpacks, and a stroller. Good thing is the people in there are very helpful. They are always ready to help and assist. Medyo nagulat nga ako about that, because growing up, I thought Europeans are snob, but they are really friendly and helpful. The stereotype was probably because of the language barrier, but most of them are really nice and friendly and can speak english.

We arrived in Paris almost 10pm. We still needed to ride a train going to our air bnb but we are tired and the kids are already sleepy, we haven't have food since we landed, no dinner and all. DJ decided we will just get a taxi, because we are staying just a little outside Paris. I think we arrived home at 11pm, kids fell asleep instantly. We just put our bags down and fell asleep quickly as well.

At this moment, I still cannot believe we are in France.

Paris, France.

Love, K
