Our Europe Trip: Belgium Part 1

After the 6-hour train ride from Paris, we were ready to explore Belgium. As we were going down the train, there are a lot of people going up. DJ was able to bring down one of our luggages and Dylan immediately followed his daddy to go down, in which I also hurried down the train to follow and hold him as the step on the train was a little high. DJ went back to get our other stuff, one more luggage, the stroller, which is carrying the kids' stuff (food, Mason's shoes, and their own carry on backpack) and DJ's own backpack.

As he was getting our things, people are rushing to go inside and made him stuck by the door. The people going on the train did not give him space to go down. After they all went up, the train door closes behind them leaving DJ stuck inside with our things. Meanwhile, Me, Dylan, and Mason were already on the train platform with one of our big luggage. We tried to press the open button on the train door, but it didn't work anymore and the train went with DJ still inside. We both gestured "go around" with our hands, but we didn't hear what each other said. Nobody knew what it meant! We just trusted we will find each other. The stress!! 😆

We stayed on the train platform for almost an hour with no communication whatsoever with DJ. Mason's shoes were in the stroller. They were getting hungry and thirsty, all our food and drinks were with daddy, but all we can do is wait. We didn't move because we might not see each other if we move to another location, at this moment, we are just really relying on trust that DJ will come back and get us.

45 minutes has passed and there is still no sign of DJ coming back, naiinip na yung kids, they want to eat and drink. I tried looking for an internet connection, pero wala talaga. I've been looking at every train that stops hoping that DJ will come down from one. There are 12 platforms in that station (Brussels Nord). So finding him come off one train is nearly impossible. We are in if I remember correctly, in Platform 9. After a few more minutes of waiting, I thought I saw him got off a train. Not clear though, but I really think it was him. I had a sigh of relief. But the kicker is, hindi niya alam kung nasaan kaming platform and there's no way to know where we were. So he got on platforms looking for us until he found us staying inside the sitting area of the station.

Nearly an hour has passed. We are all spent at this moment, but boy we were so happy to finally have found each other! Still in disbelief we got off the train station and walked towards our hotel. It was literally just walking distance from the station, but I don't have a map, all I have is the hotel name. And it still best to stay in one place whenever you get lost and I could not, for the life of me, carry Mason and hold Dylan and then also carry a 30kgs luggage to look around for our hotel. Good thing is that DJ is really good with maps and locations. And also thank God he has internet connection on his phone.

So for the Belgium Itinerary part, I will make another entry na lang for it. I hope you had fun reading this entry. 😅

Love,
